With 1, lines, Iago has more lines in the play than Othello himself. He treats others as fools and has no time for tender emotion, yet he is a married man and presumably once loved his wife. Iago is the opposite of God, that is, he is the Devil. Aladdin has occasionally exploited this, since antagonists are more willing to accept Iago as being more ruthless and amoral than he actually is.

Acting on behalf for Aladdin, Iago convinces Cassim to attend the wedding, promising that he will help him get the Hand of Midas. The first of these is the fact that perfectly sane people exist in whom fellow-feeling of any kind is so weak that an almost absolute egoism becomes possible to them, and with it those hard vices — such as ingratitude and cruelty — which to Shakespeare were far the worst.
